Ecologic Institute is an independent scientific institute for environmental research and policy analysis based in Berlin. Since its founding in 1995, the Institute has combined scientific research with analysis and practical policy support.

We work to advance wellbeing on a healthy planet: protecting ecosystems, strengthening social fairness, and supporting resilient, resource-efficient economies. We provide robust scientific evidence to inform sound decisions and drive impact on the ground. Around 100 experts from over 25 countries bring their diverse disciplinary backgrounds to Ecologic Institute. Their expertise covers the full spectrum of environmental policy, sustainable development, and socio-ecological research. We are committed to rigorous scientific standards and remain independent of political parties and economic interests. Our teams deliver interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects, support and evaluate policy processes at national, European, and international levels, and connect stakeholders from academia, policy, and practice. The result: top-level research that makes a difference in the real world. We contribute to teaching skills and capacity building in partnership with renowned universities worldwide.
